Queen's Blade: Rurou no Senshi

Reina is walking outside of town when she encounters Melona, and tells her she is going to defeat her for attacking travellers. Melona taunts Reina for being such a weak fighter, and says she only wants to fight decent warriors as she is a participant in Queen's Blade, a tournament held every four years to decide who is going to be the next Queen.

Tomoe, a Warrior Priestess, and Shizuka, a Demon Priestess who has defected are meditating in the shrine they tend to. Tomoe decides she is going to travel to the mainland to compete in the Queen's Blade tournament. During the night, Demon Ninja priests attack the temple.

Tomoe and Shizuka arrive on the mainland. Tomoe attempts to blend in by choosing an outfit more fitting for the mainland when she overhears a Queen's Blade battle being undertaken. Reina and Listy reach the entrance to where the Queen's Blade tournament is being held.

Claudette arrives where Reina and Listy were the night before and encounters Echidna who explains she let Reina go so that Claudette could become countess and hence reward her. Claudette goes to find Reina, and has a flashback to where she rescued Reina as a child. Having left the city on her own, Leina is approached by Nanael, who urges her to enter the Queen’s Blade tournament. Dismissing Nanael’s suggestion, Leina prepares to set off again—only to be spotted by her older sister, Claudette. The sisters confront each other, and just as they draw their swords…!

Deep within a pyramid rising from the desert, the Ancient Princess Menace has bound Leina to her through a ritual, making her a loyal servant. When Tomoe and Shizuka sneak into the pyramid, Menace quickly discovers them and orders the enslaved Leina to attack!

Pursuing Airi into the forest, Leina and Nanael come upon a standoff between Noah and Airi. Seeing her chance, Nanael promptly declares a Queen’s Blade battle. Noah is driven entirely onto the defensive as Airi overwhelms her with attack after attack. Unable to watch any longer, Leina steps in…

Summoned before the Archangel, Nanael is informed that her many rule violations have put her at risk of being banished to the underworld. Yet she is offered a reprieve on one condition. Taking the angel Hachiel with her, Nanael sets out on a mission into the domain of the Swamp Witch—but things do not go as planned…

After reaching a secluded, unnamed hot spring, Tomoe and Shizuka take the opportunity to soothe their weariness. There they unexpectedly encounter Elina, who is searching for Leina with a detachment of soldiers. Tensions rise and a fight seems moments away, but Tomoe chooses to withdraw, narrowly avoiding a direct confrontation. However…

Cattleya heads out on a delivery run, leaving her son Rana at home. During her journey, she happens to meet Leina and the others. At the same time, Ymir visits a weapon merchant. Low-cost weapons have begun saturating the market, causing weapons from Steel Mountain to languish on the shelves, and Ymir has come to scout out the culprit behind it.

Leina and Nanael catch up with Tomoe and her companions. Eager to prove how much stronger she has become, Leina challenges Risty to a Queen’s Blade duel. But the gap in skill between them is far too great, and Leina is knocked out with a single strike. Just then…

Claudette and Risty enter a Queen’s Blade duel. Their abilities are closely matched, but Risty’s injuries from an earlier fight prove too much to overcome, and she falls in battle. Just then, Leina catches up with the pair, setting the stage for the long-awaited clash between the rival sisters!

Having defeated Claudette, Leina claims victory in their long-awaited duel. But before she can celebrate, Melona, Menace, and Airi—servants of the Swamp Witch—descend upon her party with an army of the undead, intent on stopping the Queen’s Blade tournament. As warriors from every side are drawn into the fray, who will emerge victorious from the ensuing melee?!
